Seesmic update for Wed the 16th

[by Jeremy Vaught, Community Blogger - Seesmic]

Options, options, options!  You have asked for it, and we are delivering.  Creative Commons has arrived.   Now when you record a video, you can choose your license.  This means you determine how other people can use your content.  Your choices are now between six combinations of Creative Commons licenses, and "All Rights Reserved".  You can learn more about Creative Commons licenses on their website, as well as a link from our Terms of Service which has been updated.  This applies to both the Flex client and the embedded player.  In the embedded player, you can find the Creative Commons license information by clicking on the 'menu' button.

Jon Phillips and Loic Le Meur got together to help explain Creative Commons:

We've also added the following new features today:

  • The 'Following' tab will be the default instead of the 'Public' timeline.
  • New users, by default will still see the 'Public' tab. Once they follow 10 people, the 'Following' timeline becomes their default.
  • You are no longer "following yourself" in the 'Following' timeline.
  • Replies no longer show up in the 'Following' tab, they show in the 'Public' tab.
  • You can now edit the description of the videos.
  • We've made a number of bug fixes throughout the platform.

I'd be happy to see the Internet Archives name on the partners list also :)

Perhaps even an option to further add some meta information to an assest would help also.

Looks like a good setup your running.
