As you might have heard, we are about to close Ping.fm. We’ve built its successor, Seesmic Ping, which is more reliable, stable and robust, providing more features and focusing on the most popular services. Here’s what’s currently featured in Seesmic Ping:

• Post from iPhone, iPad and Android
• Post via email
• Post and schedule to multiple Twitter, Facebook (Pages & Profiles) and LinkedIn accounts (we’ve just added Tumblr)
• Quickly and easily schedule posts to be sent at a future date and time
• Create groups to send a combination of services.
• Share multiple kinds of content: share links as attachments for Facebook, Linkedin and Tumblr; share photos or images (post pictures on Facebook and Twitter as if you were posting them “natively”)
• View thumbnails of your images to ensure you know exactly what you are sharing
• Preview and select thumbnails for attached links
• View the history of your recent posts
• View, edit or delete your scheduled posts
• Bookmarklet for easy posting

And here are some features that you will be able to use on your Windows desktop:

• Click and drag images onto the composer (you can also do a right click on the image file and “Share with Seesmic Ping”)
• Click and drag links onto the composer
• Spell check support
• Keyboard shortcuts
• Bookmarklet: automatically attach links with a single button
• Minimize to System Tray: closing the app will minimize to the System Tray for easy access. Ctrl + Shift + P activates and brings the app to the front

When will Ping.fm no longer be supported?

We will close down Ping.fm by mid-June. We’ve been working hard to get Seesmic Ping on par with the Ping.fm service you are used to.  So from the get-go you should enjoy a great experience when switching to Seesmic Ping, and it will only get better from there. So right now, we encourage you to get your Seesmic Profile and try Seesmic Ping through our mobile, desktop or web applications.  If you want to do it directly from your Ping.fm account, just log in: we’ve just put in place a special Ping.fm wizard that will smoothly take you through the process.

Pricing

There will be three plans for Seesmic Ping: a free plan, so that everyone gets a chance to enjoy it, a $4.99/month plan for the ones who want to get more, and a $49.99 for the ones who just want it all.  We will start charging for the service after the beta period, and more details will be provided by the time we officially launch in June.

API developers

As part of our service, we have a Seesmic Ping API available in private beta.  If you want to learn more about it, please contact SeesmicPingAPI@seesmic.com. We will provide more details on our plans (features, pricing, etc.) for the Seesmic Ping API soon.

We are happy to announce today  that you are now able to use Groups with Seesmic Ping for Android and iOS (iPhone & iPad).

Here is a quick reminder of what the Group feature allows you to do:

You can create and send messages to a group of target accounts of Facebook, Facebook Pages, multiple Twitter accounts, multiple Tumblr accounts, and LinkedinView. Groups allow you to send the appropriate types of messages, links and photos to the accounts you gathered.

For Android, we also added the ability to preview and choose a thumbnail for url links for Facebook and Linkedin:

Groups is the newest cool feature for Seesmic Ping that goes one step further making cross-posting easy. You are now able to create and send messages to a group of target accounts of Facebook, Facebook Pages, multiple Twitter accounts, multiple Tumblr accounts, and Linkedin.

You have the ability to create and schedule messages, links and images to different groups for your various businesses (as shown - Takoyaki Cart’s Twitter Account, Tumblr Account and Facebook Page). Hence, for example, you can send the appropriate types of messages, links and photos to your group of accounts for your personal (Twitter and Facebook wall) or professional brand (Twitter, Linkedin and Tumblr).

Groups are already available on the web client and  will be available on the mobile very soon.

Updates to Seesmic for Android
For one of our most popular products, Seesmic for Android, we’ve recently released updates, with much more to come. We’re finding much more success with the addition of Seesmic Pro at an introductory price of $2.99, which keeps the app ad-free and with additional features such as a combined view and preview support for Instragram images. It’s been one of the top paid apps in the social category and we’ve been very pleased with the release.

These updates allow us to provide more features for both the free and pro version. Our focus will be to consistently iterate and provide users value to one of the most recommended android apps for Twitter and Facebook. Look for many more features to come!

Seesmic Ping: We’ve added Tumblr! And more coming soon!
Since the release of Seesmic Ping, a successor to Ping.fm, we’ve been very focused on delivering powerful yet simple features that help make sharing easy.

We’re happy to share that we’ve just added Tumblr across our Seesmic Ping products on the web, iPhone, iPad and Android. You can now add Tumblr, along with your Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and Facebook pages to your Seesmic Profile from Seesmic.com, and send messages from your iPhone, iPad and Android as well as email and from the web!

With the addition of Tumblr and other features, we actually surpass many features that Ping.fm provides. With Seesmic Ping, you can do the following:

And to keep our focus on our core products and reset our priorities, it’s important for us to give closure to a few of our other products. In the coming weeks, we’ll coordinate the sunset of Seesmic Web, Seesmic Desktop 2, Seesmic iPhone, along with Ping.fm once we have our features in place.

Hey Seesmic Ping users! We just pushed a new release for our Seesmic Ping products for iOS, Android and the Web Client.

The biggest part of this update is the Tumblr integration. Here are the main new features you can enjoy on Seesmic Ping:

The Seesmic Social for Android community is growing every day, and we thought it was time to go to the next step. We are happy to announce the launch of the Pro version of Seesmic for Android for an introductory price of $2.99.

Here is an overview of the additional features you will be able to use from now on:

• Viewing thumbnail images from Twitter and Instagram within a timeline

• Loading photos and images natively into Twitter

Along with these features, you will be given access to the first Premium feature we developed specifically for the Pro version: the ability to combine views from multiple accounts. This feature allows you to create an integrated timeline view of Facebook and multiple Twitter accounts:

Besides, the Pro version will be ad free (ads will be placed in some of the timelines of the free version).

Seesmic users who want to upgrade to Pro - Seesmic Pro is an application key that will unlock all the features and remove the ads in Seesmic for Android. If you haven’t already installed it, you’ll first need to download Seesmic for Android (free version) and download Seesmic Pro after that. Then, you will have to keep the Seesmic Pro app installed but it will not appear as a separate application.
