Getting Ready to Launch Seesmic CRM at Dreamforce

Yes, tomorrow is the big day! Dreamforce, salesforce.com‘s annual conference begins, and Seesmic CRM for Salesforce will go live tomorrow in the Android Market.  You can bet we are busy.

With less than 18 hours until Dreamforce and even less time until our app goes live to the public, all hands are on deck. We thought we would share some photos of what we are up to right now.

We can’t forget our beloved Androids – thanks to Motorola, our devices are charged and ready to go.

If you are attending Dreamforce, please be sure to stop by Seesmic’s booth #1430 to take Seesmic CRM for a spin. If you can’t make it to Dreamforce, no problem. Just send us an email at salesforce at seesmic dot com, and we will be happy to tell you more about the newest member of the Seesmic family.

Sneak Peek: Seesmic CRM for Salesforce on iPad

The tablets have entered the workforce. According to Gartner, by 2013, 80% of businesses will support a workforce using tablets. Forrester Research wrote that the web as we know it is “a dying technology.” We now have gammes of mobile devices that provide an endless choice of applications. Even Sesame Street caught on last year that no matter what you want to do.. “there’s an app for that”.

While it’s still unclear whether Apple will be able to claim the entire market thanks to their expansive patents, it’s clear that the iPad is well positioned to become the #1 tablet in the workplace. A recent study from comScore showed the iPad as dominating worldwide, accounting for over 89% of tablet traffic across all 13 markets that were surveyed. Here at Seesmic, we don’t have a preference of Android vs Apple devices, but we did discover that salesforce.com, for whom we will be launching our Seesmic CRM for Salesforce application on Android August 30th, also didn’t have their own iPad application.

If you haven’t seen our video featuring Seesmic CRM for Salesforce for Android, check it out. Next in line ? Seesmic CRM for Salesforce on iPad.

First Look: Seesmic CRM for Salesforce on Android

Android is shaking up the mobile market, and it’s not over yet. IDC predicts that Android will command 40% of the mobile market through 2011 and 44% by 2015. According to Nielsen, Android smartphones lead the market in data usage, too. Android users averaged 582 megabytes of data in the first quarter of 2011 vs. 492 megabytes for iPhone owners.

Forrester wrote, “We now live in a multi-device world, where companies and consumers choose different smartphone and tablet platforms and expect to get apps on all of them.” With increasing market share, the largest share of data, and enterprise acceptance, Androids are not just for geeks anymore.

Seesmic learned this when we integrated Chatter into all of our applications. Most of our users are mobile (75%), and, of those, a majority are Android users. These users wanted more than just Chatter integration in Seesmic – they wanted an Android application devoted solely to Salesforce. Our familiarity with Salesforce (both a partner and an investor) and the success of Seesmic for Android (1 million + downloads!) fueled our mission to build Seesmic CRM for Salesforce on Android.

Here is a first look:

If you are not an Android user, stay tuned…Wednesday we will tell you more about Seesmic CRM for Salesforce on iPad and offer you a sneak peek.
